Meter per Minute (m/min)
The metre per minute (m/min) is a velocity of one metre each minute, 1/60 m/s. For filters it is the same as m³/min of air per m² of media, the "air-to-cloth ratio".
Symbol: m/min
Quantity: face velocity and air permeability (volumetric flow per unit area)
SI relation: 1 m/min = 0.01666666666667 m/s (exact)
Derivation: 1 m/min = 1 m ÷ 60 s (equivalently 1 m³/min of flow per 1 m² of cloth)
Exact: yes, by definition
Typical uses
- Baghouse and dust-collector air-to-cloth ratio (pulse-jet ≈ 1–2 m/min)
- Conveyor and line speeds
- Filter media velocity specifications
