Area of a Rhombus Calculator
The area of a rhombus is half the product of its diagonals, A = d₁d₂ ÷ 2: diagonals of 10 and 6 cm give 30 cm².

Step-by-step solution
- A = (d₁ × d₂) ÷ 2
- A = (10 × 6) ÷ 2 = 30 cm²
Area of a Rhombus Formula
A = d₁ × d₂ ÷ 2
d₁, d₂ diagonals
Worked Example
A rhombus with diagonals 10 cm and 6 cm:
- A = (d₁ × d₂) ÷ 2
- A = (10 × 6) ÷ 2 = 30 cm²
Side: 5.83095 cm · Perimeter: 23.3238 cm

Frequently asked questions
How do I find the area of a rhombus using its sides?
A rhombus is a parallelogram, so A = a² × sin θ, where a is the side and θ any interior angle. Side 5 cm with a 60° angle gives 21.65 cm².
Why is the rhombus area half the product of the diagonals?
The diagonals cross at right angles and split the rhombus into four right triangles, each with legs d₁/2 and d₂/2. Their total area is 4 × ½ × d₁/2 × d₂/2 = d₁d₂ ÷ 2.
How do I find the side of a rhombus from its diagonals?
a = √[(d₁/2)² + (d₂/2)²]. Diagonals 10 and 6 give a side of √34 ≈ 5.83.
